getting stripe-eeeeeee

its become obvious in my floor-drobe lately that i am slightly obsessed with stripes. in no way do i feel nautical but they just keep appearing out of no where, so do the over the top sequin'd garments that repeatedly keep dressing on my body. what has happened to winter fashion this year. its definately not its usual blacks greys and bland colouring of sorts. i am in love with whats going on. its warm and humble-ishly inviting, which fashion should be all the time. it seems common to always hear the phrase, you are what you eat. truthfully, its not what you eat, its what you wear. fashion in the cooler months definately reflects on how you are feeling come rain or shine. its the unusual and architectural structures that keep me emotionally warm through winter. bring on the continuation of pattern clashes and chunky recycled layers.

i pulled out some of my accessorising broken pieces and collectables today. i have an urge to rebuild and make new of what i have collected over the past 6 years. i love the over the shirt collar look thats happening at the moment, with clashes of pearls, mixed metals and pendents. the more you mix the better.

enough about the cold weather. i have finalised all my new york bookings and i leave in one month today. it can not come quick enough!! get my out of normality and trick my system into new living and loving patterns. after going on about winter, it has occured to me that summer is going to be upon me in 4 weeks. oh boy i dread packing, this is going to be a tough trip. who doesnt want to take all their collectable wardrobe goods to new york?? im going to need a team to jury the decissions for me. alenka, liana, im going to need your help on this one. skype, no skype. it must be done.

there is not a lot going on in this head of mine apart from the above, so i will keep this one short.

its only thursday

its one of the first mornings this year that i have woken up to a crisp chill in the air. i had my sleep in and it was clear that i did not want to get up and out of the warm covers. it took me 45 minutes to get out of bed this morning, and for me that is rare. if im awake, im up and ready to go. not today. so this thursday for me is know as the laziest thursday i have had in a while.

with not alot to do today, i found myself gazing into thin air and i decided to bake a cake. yep thats how lazy and how bored i have being today.
i tried watching a movie but could not keep still. painted my nails, then changed my mind on the colour so re did it. i have drunk my self silly with all sorts of tea. i started to read a book, failed after 3 pages. i am over instagram. and now i can smell the cake cooking in the oven and it has given me some hope that today may just get a lil more exciting. chocolate exciting.

but other than that, fashion week is next week. australian fashion will be buzzing around the streets of sydney and i have goosebumps thinking about what will be racked up after the runway shows. the best thing about australian designers when fashion week starts to warm up, are the welcoming arms they have open to the general public who are unlucky in getting tickets to the shows. this year it seems to me there is more going on for the unlucky ones than the fashionista golden ticket holders.

call me boring but i have a secret obsession with ksubi's new collection W.A.R. at the moment. im normally not one to jump away from my over the top love for sass and bide, but hello urban clashes. i want every piece of the collection, female and male. if i wasnt going overseas in a couple of months, my credit card would be flaming with ksubi goodness. ive always loved the brand and what it represents but this collection has grasped my attention and im feelin it! bring on their show on monday!!! lets hope rats dont run off the runway... maybe some war inspired explosions?

LOng flu weekend

This is the first time I have posted from my iphone so let's see how I go!! Easter is over for another year, can't believe it. Soon July will be hitting us in the face and it will be Christmas again.... But aside from that how was your 4 day weekend? Mine- in bed with a horrible snot fest temperature flashing flu. Yep, all my fun flew out the window and god I was miserable. So laying in bed I spent way to much time on Instagram watched the whole of season 6 of sex and the city went through an entire box of tissues and drank approx 20 cups of tea. Don't worry though Easter bunny did bring me chocolate.... GONE!

Today embarks my one year completion of being a Sydney sider. This day last year I was homeless, belonging less and extremely exhausted.

Xian was on tv this weekend. October last year he dislocated his shoulder silly swimming at red leaf bay and so whilst visiting the emergency ward at st Vincent hospital he got filmed for a new show in foxtel. Watch it seriously !!! He's a hoot !

Well I hope you all had a great Easter. I know it's probably wrong but I can not wait for next weekend already. No to flu's on weekends!!!!

wintering inspar

its the end of the week AGAIN and the clouds are quickly moving over as a storm is brewing. the weather has being so beautiful this week and now we are back to square one with the sunless days in sydney. which on that note, i am so inspired by winter and can not wait for the wind to chill and the temperature to drop. take a look take a look... i stare at these pics and hope i can pull off a black-less winter, filled with clash of prints and pops of fluro, chuncky over coats and slick rock-a-billy boots. show those socks off and pom pom those beenies.

happy days are ahead when i can dust off the winter goods! but summer i still love you the most!

post for a sake of a post

today i worked and it was good. i am getting so excited about the new collection at work, i can not wait to get my grubby paws on it, and start to put the pieces into my daily wardrobe. it was one of those days where i just needed someone to say, your not thinking crazy, your actually thinking smart. and that i did get. i love the people i work with, and no matter what i know i can always count on them to talk me back into the norm. maybe i just woke up on the wrong side of the bed?

i cut my finger making dinner last night. it still hurts. and no, the part i cut off wasn't in the dinner i made

yesterday i went for an adventure drive with xian. he spoilt me with a stop at adriano zumbo's cafe, i ate a lemon tart. it was delicious. then we found this look out in balmain that over looks the whole of the city. it was kinda historical and spooky, but it was subtle and calm, all at the same time. it would be the most perfect place to watch the harbour fire works on new years, but imagine trying to get a spot. nightmare.

its a new week and the rain looks as if it is staying away for the time being, so for now i will start to count down the days til the weekend.

dont be fooled by the sun

its that kind of day today where its looks warm and comfortable outside, then you step out the front door only to get struck by the icy wind. i guess its back to the drawing board for a wardrobe change. its time to pull out those winter knits and coats again.
im not even ready for this yet. why does summer always go so quick and winter feel like forever. i am a winter baby, and i dont even like the cold! love the layering, but hate the chill.

abandonment

I am surrounded by all these amazing people who live to blog, post and explore the trends and social meetings of this crazy world we live in with words of complete wisdom, and yet i still let this web diary sit still.
So i am here to pledge, i WILL not abandon you blogspot / frayed language any more. I have always used this to rant about the random thoughts in my head and this i will continue.

I am not much of a talker, people seem to think i am, but in all honestly i am a quiet, humble human being. I think its because i dont know how to express my excitement or passions with out being horribly scary and over the top. People know what i like, and i think because i am so quiet sometimes they are not aware of what i dont like. Lets not get critical here but if you know what you want, you will aim to get it. And if there is something you do not want, dont take it. I need to learn how to say no. Its beginning to catch up on me.

But other than that, whats being on my mind in terms of fun.

Fashion weeks are blooming and screaming with inspiration to hopeful fashionista's like myself. Bring on the architectural structures in garments. I am loving the colour palets and the beyond clashing experiences in prints and colour ( not just in the clothing - hair is beyond extreme ). Say no more to basic, lets go wild with texture and tailored shapes.
Melbourne celebrated its fashion week with the launch of Dita von Teese Von Follies lingerie for Target, Australia is finally bringing sexy back. Romance was Born exploded on the catwalk living up to its beyond eccentric creations and Australian labels proved to be moving forward to catch up with the rest of the world. I am excited for winter!

Sass & Bide's new collection Stand and Deliver is about to hit the stores, its all about bringing the bling to the streets. Australia is going disco this winter, but with a whole lotta class. I can not wait to hold some of this collection in my wardrobe.

That reminds me, i am partially going through a break up with my wardrobe. Ebay you are serving me some good, just like a lawyer would in a divorce. Good bye old, HELLO new, and also some extra cash for the New York trip in few months.

Right now, Tokyo is cat walking away with its fashion week. I am looking forward to waking up tomorrow and seeing the documentation of the shows. Japan is the most inspirational country in the world. AND i will forever repeat that, no matter what, everyone who loves fashion that is past normal and has hit a new level of obscure, needs to go there. Not just for a week, but for a length of time. Soak up the culture and dont be afraid to dress to the jap code.

Sydney is treating me well, i am missing my family, cue aww's, but i will finally be reunited with my parents in just over a month, for so much catch up time, over eating and probably doing the touristy thing around sydney. I have being here almost a year, and today i recieved an email from my real estate to let me know my rent will be going up. BY $20. thank god thats all. Paddington i will not be leaving yet. Can i also just say, i am so bloody sick of the rain. Pleas weather gods, let the rain stop for just a lil while.

Well its just hit 12:15 am on a friday night, i passed up going out to stay home and indulge in some bed watching movie time, so this i will go do. Tomorrow i will open those magazines stacked up on my coffee table, yet to be creased from reading and will follow up with a lil more frayed language.
