3 days, camping, mud, heat stroke, cold showers, too much to drink and music that makes you move whilst still asleep at nights rest, pretty much sums up how the three day weekend errupted from good to great. Shared with many friends, the festival started with a pre visit into the grounds and a sweet frozen magarita, or two many, opening up the ticket holders to how enormously large Splendour has become. Camping is something that i wouldnt normally throw myself into but surprising myself, and those whom stayed with my precious self, i really enjoyed it. especially those heart stopping cold showers at 7am.
Now i have to warn you, i cant remember exactly what happened each individual day of the festival (thank you over-rated sugary alcoholic beverages), so in a small paragraph music acts the melted my soul, tame impala, broken social scene, the foals, florence and the machine, the strokes, hot chip, temper trap, mumford and sons, band of skulls, angus and julia stone.. oh and so many more (its so hard to remember - overwhelmed).
With a total of fives minutes worth of rain, everyone seemed to have joined the gumboot trend, and im going to put it out there - never wearing them again. with all the walking involved over the weekend, they felt like scuba diving weight boots by the end of the evening. They lasted one day and i decided it was a smart and moved onto the indie boots... clothes of all seasons were worn and the weather changed more then i changed my knickers. My hair was washed maybe once. yep, i was dirty baby.
juice, breakfast of champions
last day glory, delerium
beauties
dancing with the man
All in all, it was a festival i will never forget and to those who whinged about the ticket price, i was well worth the $$$$. You were crazy not to have gone! And i guess to end it all, F*@k you time for making it end so quick!
