exaggerated shapes of eye-bling

what is normal in the world of sunglasses and fashionable eyewear? do we trust that these 'exaggerated' styles actually protect our eyes from the sun? or have sunglasses become the belt of every woman's outfit?

deciphering the actual purpose of a pair of sunglasses, it is recommended in Australia that we wear either a category 2 or 3 lense type, simply as a source of 100% protection against the blazing aussie sun. The two categories range through lense colours, shape, volume and gradience. Polorised lenses - for the tight arses in this world, cut out glare but if you ask me a black or green lense does the job anyway!

Eyewear/ sunglasses originally designed as an outside purpose accessory, slithered their way into worlds of costume luxe and the focus of celebrity influences as they became easy to access and were, and still are the most affordable luxury item to purchase. The likes of John Lennon and Elton John performed in eyewear, transforming the outside accessory to be worn on the stage as a part of their outfit, and be used as a weapon of unstable identity.

The 'average jo' frame, made famous by Lennon himself has crept its way back into vogue and have become even more difficult to find through retailers. Brands that have interpreted the style, RayBan, Ralph Lauren, Karen Walker, Oliver people have twisted the background story of the frame and made them a must have over this years autumn/winter season.

Elton John and his wild antics with outrageous shades, developed through his stage performances and his poor eye sight, which in terms of trends opened up a sense of freedom in what is correct for the eye and what was not. Is it more popular now to put your optical lense in a sunglass frame?  I mean why not wear a pair of shades if you cant see with them on! I believe that Lady Gaga has joined this train!

As a passionate sunglass wearer, i believe it is the characteristics of the style that attracts their wearer, and the way the wearer mentally feels when wrapping them around their face. This 'modern pretty' effect of the extravagant yet exaggerated eye-bling seems to be more dominant in sales as the classics are the extravagant and the contemporary is served as exaggerated. Sunglasses reflect personality yet they also have a means in hiding someones identity.
what becomes of you in eyewear? what goes through your mind when slipping a particualr pair onto your nose?
